Our Core Satellite & Space index was down -1% in December, outperforming the S&P 500 which saw a loss of -3% and outperforming the MSCI Global (ex.-U.S.) index which saw a loss of -4%.
Transaction activity was down slightly in the month, with eight minority VC/PE equity financings, four M&A transactions, and three public equity financing announced.  ​
2024 was respectable but not a breakout year for space-related M&A and financing transactions. During the year, there were 47 space-related acquisitions/buy-outs, 135 minority venture/private equity financings, and 22 public equity financings. After whipsawing from 2019-2023, space transaction volumes have appeared to reach a steady-state level.
