Covering Space Sector Market Trends & Indices for June 2026, including:
Stocks return to Earth. Our Core (-22%) and Frontier (-39%) indexes underperformed the market (S&P 500; -1%) for the first time since March. All market sectors declined and 5/6 fell double digits.
SpaceX hangover: Entering June, our Core and Frontier indexes were up 97% and 130% YTD, riding the SpaceX IPO wave. A post-IPO giveback was inevitable.
Space Hardware fell the most (-37%) but is up 102% YTD. 4/15 stocks fell >50%, led by Astroscale (-56%), while MDA held up (-7%). 11/15 remain positive YTD.
Earth Observation fell 36% in June but is up 72% YTD. One stock fell >50% (IQPS; -53%), while three fell >40%. 6/9 stocks remain up double digits YTD.
Ground Hardware fell 31%, less than the other >30% decliners, but unlike them is now negative YTD (-15%). It trails Space Hardware by 81 pp and EO by 51 pp y/y.
Satcom stumbled (-12%), though is up the most of any sector YTD (63%) and y/y (109%). A&D Primes (-4%) and Gov’t Services (-14%) posted mild drops in June.
