Pete Kunkel is a serial entrepreneur. Early in his career, he founded a financial technology start up company focused on mobile banking in armed conflict zones as well as e-commerce mobile wallets for developing economies. Later, he founded a corporate development consultancy focused on advanced space sector technologies, including spacecraft reusability and electric rockets for space propulsion. He is a former Distinguished Visiting Fellow for classified programs at LMI, a McLean, Virginia-based logistics consultancy serving national security agencies of the US Government. Pete served as the Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army, directing all Army budgeting and financial management activities and operations. Pete is a former leveraged finance investment banker with UBS and a former Rifle Company Commander in the United States Marine Corps. He is currently the CEO of a space stealth startup. Pete earned a B.A. in economics on an N.R.O.T.C. scholarship from Northwestern University and a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
